Mexico Whales

Paul Kutler, a CFI with Advanced Flyers and Sundance Flying Club, annually leads trips to Mexico to view (and hopefully pet) the California Gray Whales in Laguna San Ignacio, Baja California. Trips in 2014 also included an option to visit La Paz prior to the whale trip. For the whales only trip, we stayed at the Hotel La Mision in the city of Loreto, Baja California, South. For the La Paz trip we stayed at the Hotel Costa Baja Resort and Spa. Last year three planes and 9 people from the San Francisco Bay Area and various flying clubs in the Bay Area participated.

A seminar is normally given by Paul in January at the Sundance Flying Club for pilots and passengers planning to go on the trip. It includes everything a pilot needs to know to perform this international flight.

A number of Sundance airplanes make the trip each year. If you do want to take a Sundance Flying Club airplane there will be some arrangements that you will need to make with the club and the airplane owner. Please contact the club for details.
