Joe is an Ohio native whose interest in aviation began as a child. He sought out flight training at the age of 17 at the only airport that had a flight school in Salem, Ohio. By the age of 18, his dream of becoming a pilot was achieved. Sparked by this new passion, he continued his training at Kent State University. While at Kent State, Joe competed in the National Intercollegiate Flying Association's regional and national flight competitions with Kent's precision flight team. Joe also became a coach for the flight team's E6B event. After graduating with a degree in Flight Technology, Joe returned to his home airport in Salem to give back as an instructor, as well as seek additional training in glider towing and upset recovery. Joe moved to California in 2016 in search of more flight opportunities, and to further his passion as an instructor.
